What is Your Twitter Score?

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010

what is your Twitter rank?

Everything else has a score measurement system, why not Twitter?  Ever wanted to know how you rank on Twitter?  Now you can find out for yourself using Twitter Score!  This fun online service will tell you your score on Twitter, depending on your follower, rank, friends and updates.

As an example, we did a quick testing of @lunarpages to see how we score.  Right now we have a 6.55 out of 10, which puts us above average.

Is this important?

Not so much.  It is more for fun than anything else – to see how you rank in the world of tweeters out there.  Want to know who is on top right now?  Check out the top Twitter scores here.

Here is a little more about how the scoring system works from the developers:

Twitter Score bases scores of Twitter users on three factors: friends, followers and frequency of updates. Based on the quantities of all three scores, a score between 0.01 and 10.00 is produced.

In order to make the scoring fair, the bottom 30% of those scored are offered a handicap, and the top 10% of those scored are weighted down to make the playing field level.

What does your Twitter Score say about you?  Let us know in the comments after you go check out twtscore.com.

Fun “Guess What I’m Drawing” Game

Fun Drawing Game

Looking for a fun way to spend a few extra minutes of your day?  If you are looking for an escape from your Monday morning blues – give Gartic a try.  This web-based drawing game is a lot of fun.

The idea here is to join a room, and then have everybody take turns guessing what one person is trying to draw.  Each round a word is given to a player and that player must draw it, the best they can.  When the word is guessed, both the guessing playing and the player that is drawing the image gets points.

Think of it as playing Pictionary on the Web with a bunch of strangers.  Go give it a shot, at http://www.gartic.net/.

Do You Have an About Us Page?

Wednesday, January 14th, 2009

Mitch “Boot Camp” Keeler

One page that has become a common thing to see, no matter what type of web site it is, is an “about us” type page.  However, some web site are still missing this very important page.  This page is important to have because it lets your visitors know a little more background information about what it is you do, and what your web site is about.

There are several ideas or questions you should be able to answer, once the about us page is complete.  One of these would be, who are you? Make sure you let people know who you are and your background information on what it is you do.  Another question you should answer is how can I contact you? Listing your contact information here and elsewhere on your web site will give your visitors direct access to get to you if they need to.  You also want to make sure you tell people about the web site.  Give me a short summary and description on what your web site is about.

Breaking things down to the very basic level, your web page is about giving information in one way, shape or form to the general public.  You need to make you you get that information to them as clearly as possible, and never leave a question un-answered about you.

No Uptime Web Hosting. A Joke Or Parody?

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

Most web hosts (I mean shared ones) are… well stupid. They claim to offer 2 things you never need. One is 99.9% uptime, another - “750 GB disc space and 7500 GB bandwidth” (well they mean “data transfer” but say bandwidth… no one is perfect). Why do I say 99.9% is not important? Because if […]
