Online Legal Document Builders

Does your web site have a terms of service or privacy policy?  Now, there are many web sites on the Web that really do not require these two documents to be posted, but there are many that could be helped by getting these legal terms posted too.  To help you out I have found a place that will help you generate both for your own web site or business, for no cost to you.

Get Your Legal Documentation Done Easily!

Once you load up the legal document builders, they are very easy to use.  An online entrepreneur only needs to fill out the basics about their web site or business, and the web site wizard takes care of the rest of the work.

Once you are done, the documents you need are returned to you via the Internet automatically, along with an HTML version of the code, so you can easily post it into your own web site’s pages.

You can check out both tools here:

Having a good set of legal documentation on your web site to cover your assets is a good thing to go ahead and get covered.  Now, I am far from a lawyer, nor do I play one on the Internet, however Legal River seems to be willing to help with these two form builders to get you pointed in the right direction when it comes to setting up a privacy policy or a terms of service agreement.

Fixing WordPress CSS Alignment Editor Issues

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

WordPress is finally providing a blog text editor that they can be proud of.  As of the most recent release, I have switched from using a desktop client to write blog entries to the WordPress web site interface.  That isn’t to say it hasn’t been without problems.

One issue I saw was that the text and picture alignment (left, right, and center) was not working.   However, this is a very simple thing to fix, if you aren’t afraid to get your hands dirty with some stylesheet work.

The problem is that the WordPress post and page editor uses its own CSS code to change how your page or post gets presented.  So if it is not in place already, copy this snipit of code into each of your WordPress themes to fix your alignment problems.

Here is the code you’ll want to copy and paste into your theme’s stylesheet:

img.centered, .aligncenter, div.aligncenter {display: block margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; }

img.alignright { padding: 4px; margin: 0 0 4px 5px; display: inline; }

img.alignleft { padding: 4px margin: 0 5px 4px 0; display: inline; }

.alignright { float: right; }

.alignleft { float: left; }

Feel free to edit that as needed, to fit your own design preferences. Your theme is found at:

/wp-content/themes/nameoftheme/stylesheet.css

That should get you basically to the right spot.  Depending on the theme, stylesheet name might change. Also “nameofthetheme” should reflect the name of the WordPress theme you are using.

If you are having a hard time getting your images and content to align as you have specified in the built-in WordPress editor, this should do the trick.  Just remember to upload the changes, once you have put them in place.

Find Domain Name Typos Faster

Domain Name Typo Finder

People often say it is a good idea to register domain name typos.  Why?  Well, when somebody accidently types in the wrong domain name, you want to make sure they still get to your web site at large.  For example, did you know Google has Gooogle.com registered?

To help you find some of the domain names to register we have ErrorNow.  To use this domain name error search tool, all you need to do is type in your domain name, hit the TAB key and then hit the button labeled, “Make Error” when it is available.  Once you do, you’ll get a number of different options like this:

Typos Generated from ErrorNow

There are just some of the results I got when I searched for my own domain name, mitchkeeler.com

For now only 2 types of errors are caught:

  • Errors made by forgot to type a character
  • Errors made by press a nearby character

Once you have made a list of some that you would like to register – you can leave the ErrorNow site, login to your Customer Account Page at Lunarpages, and register them to use with the web site you have with us. So the next type somebody accidently types in the wrong domain name, you can easily send them to the right web site, your web site.
